Mr Jamieson Testimonial for Ayr Extension I employed Darren to build a 24 square meter kitchen extension with some associated internal alterations, including a new bathroom and utility room. This was the first time I had embarked on a building project of this kind so I wasn't sure of all the implications such as planning permission, building control and architects.I was also working to a strict budget. I asked several builders to come round, and had a mixed experience. Some seemed to be salesmen rather than builders and one builder who I contacted didn't seem particularly interested, I eventually had to take the plans to him! The exception was Darren Dawson, who turned up on time, in his builders van and straight from his current job. Darren was down to earth, straight-forward and explained the process, he also suggested an architect who he worked with and found reliable; Tom Sweeney.Darren's estimate was the only one to meet my budget. He is a busy man so couldn't start for about six months but I was happy to wait. When the work started Darren and his team turned up promptly (8am) and worked hard, the job took about 8 weeks. I went on holiday for around three weeks, during which time Darren kept me updated with photographs.I would thoroughly recommend Darren, and also Tom Sweeney. Dawson builders are hard working, reliable, stuck to the budget and did a good job. |
